Privacy Policy

Switchyard Learning Group LLC, 320 Blackwell Street, Suite 220, Durham, North Carolina 27701, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Questions about privacy can be sent to hello@switchyardlearning.com or directed to us at +1 (919) 555-0147.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle information collected through our public site, skills-review requests, cohort inquiries, and communications about systems administration training. It does not govern an employer’s internal systems or information a learner independently shares in a lab exercise. A lab environment uses fictional scenarios; learners should not place customer records, credentials, or other sensitive workplace material in it.

Information we collect

When you request a skills review, we collect the name, organization, work email, telephone number, description of your current setup, and primary concern that you enter. We may collect messages, scheduling preferences, enrollment communications, invoice contact details, and records showing program participation. Our site may receive limited technical information such as browser type, device characteristics, referring page, approximate location inferred from an address, pages viewed, and timestamps.

We do not ask for payment card information on this site. Please do not send passwords, access keys, social security numbers, protected health information, or live client data through the form. If such information is sent despite this request, we may remove it where reasonably practical and contact you if follow-up is needed.

Why we use information

We use contact and inquiry information to assess program fit, reply to requests, arrange a conversation, administer enrollment, provide training, maintain course records, and address support questions. We use aggregated site activity to understand whether pages are useful and to measure advertising that a visitor has agreed to. Some processing is based on your consent, such as optional measurement cookies. Other processing is based on our legitimate interest in operating a training business, responding to a request, preventing misuse, and keeping appropriate records. Where we enter a paid agreement, processing may be necessary to perform that agreement.

Cookies and similar technology

Necessary cookies remember your consent choice and help the site function. Analytics cookies help us count visits, understand which pages are used, and improve navigation. Marketing cookies, if enabled after you choose “Accept All,” may measure whether an advertising visit resulted in an inquiry. We do not activate optional measurement scripts until that choice is recorded. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; doing so may cause the consent banner to appear again. Choosing “Necessary Only” does not prevent you from using the site.

Service providers and disclosures

We may use hosting, email, payment, scheduling, analytics, advertising measurement, and learning-environment providers. They receive information only as needed to perform services for us and are expected to use it under contractual or legal restrictions. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect people or property, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transition. We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly share personal information for another party’s independent advertising purpose without notice and an appropriate choice where required.

Retention and security

Skills-review submissions are generally retained for up to 24 months after our last meaningful contact. Enrollment, contract, and billing records may be kept longer when tax, accounting, or legal obligations require it. We use TLS for data in transit, role-based access controls, vendor review, and reasonable administrative safeguards. No system is perfect. Email, in particular, is not a secure channel for sensitive data.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal information. You may object to certain processing, withdraw consent for optional cookies, or ask us to limit processing in circumstances recognized by law. California residents may request information about categories collected, purposes, disclosure categories, and deletion; they may direct us not to sell or share personal information where applicable. We do not discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right.

To make a request, email hello@switchyardlearning.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line and tell us the relationship and contact details needed to locate the record. We may verify identity before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted, subject to verification. You may also complain to the privacy regulator in your state or country if you believe our response is inadequate.

International visitors and updates

Our operations are based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other places where our service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards. We will revise this policy when our practices or legal duties change. The effective date above shows the latest revision. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect when practical.
